I was sitting in my room, going through papers related to iKON’s next comeback. I had been working at YG for half a year. I collaborated with iKON, coming up with new concepts for their performances. I made sure their outfits, choreography, and music videos all matched each other. You could say I was like a second manager to them. Actually, no. I was more like a friend they could come to and vent. Or play pranks on. The guys knew I wouldn’t get mad. I mean, how could anyone stay mad at them? Especially the maknae—he had a real talent for it. All Chanwoo had to do was make that puppy-dog face and everyone would give in. Even I couldn’t stay upset with him when he did that.
Suddenly, I heard the doorbell. Surprised, I walked hesitantly toward the door. I slowly opened it and found myself looking right into the face of iKON’s maknae. He gave me the sweetest smile, and my heart immediately melted.
- Can I come in?
- Of course. - I stepped aside to let him in. - Do you want something to dri...
- I brought you something from Japan, - he cut me off, pulling a teddy bear plushie from behind his back.
- That’s… - I whispered, wondering how Chanwoo knew I liked that manga.
- Do you like it? - he asked, or maybe stated. It was hard to tell.
- It’s adorable, - I said, though I wasn’t looking at the gift. I was looking at Chanwoo.
- I know we work together, but… - he began, lowering his head shyly, - I can’t keep going like this…
- Did I do something wrong?
I looked at him, confused, not knowing what to think. First he gives me a gift, and then he says something like that.
- No. I just don’t know if what I’ve been wanting to do for a while now… might ruin our working relationship…
- Chanwoo… - I walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. - No matter what happens, I’ll always support you.
He raised his head and looked into my eyes. That’s when I realized how close we were standing. My cheeks started to burn.
-____ - he whispered softly, still gazing at me.
I swallowed nervously, wanting to take a step back, but he didn’t let me. He pulled me even closer, until our noses were touching. Before I could react, Chanwoo gently kissed me on the lips. That short kiss made butterflies explode in my stomach, and my cheeks were burning like crazy. I closed my eyes when I felt his hand on my cheek. When I opened them, I saw the spark of joy in his eyes. He smiled and slowly started kissing my lips again. I kissed him back, savoring every second.
After a moment, we pulled away. Chanwoo rested his forehead against mine.
- I’ve fallen in love with you.
A soft smile played at the corners of his lips.
- Chanwoo… - I whispered, touched, and wrapped my arms around him.
The only witness to the moment was the plushie that had fallen to the floor, forgotten.
